State Ambassador for Missouri Women On Wheels®
Hi! My name is Deana Foster and I am the new State Ambassador for Missouri - Women on Wheels®. I am also a wife, mother, sister, daughter, account manager and an avid motorcyclist or what some like to call “BIKER!” I’m sure you may fall under one or many of the above categories as well and perhaps now you are ready to find the “Biker” in you!
I have been a member of Women on Wheels®, specifically Lady Cruisers of the Ozarks based in Springfield, Missouri, for 9 years and I have to tell you it has changed my life. Sharing my passion and fears about motorcycling with women who share the same passion and fears is undeniably the most thrilling and empowering thing I have ever done. I have met some of the most inspiring women while on the road and through motorcycling, have grown in confidence and spirit.
To be a part of this growing movement and Women on Wheels®, there are no requirements except that you are a woman who loves motorcycles. You don’t have to be the sole rider as you will also be welcomed as a passenger. Your spouse can join as a Support Member as well as your children. You can ride any make, model or style, two or three wheeled…we don’t care as all styles of motorcycles cause moments of giddiness and uncontrollable laughter and that is part of what we are all about. I, myself, ride two very different styles of bikes. One is a very big, heavy, fat and pink cruiser in my ’99 Yamaha Venture. Then there is the new baby, a very black, leaner and meaner ’09 Kawasaki Concours. I have been riding for about 10 years and find that my excitement and enthusiasm continue to build with each passing year and riding season.
